Vegetarianism and Your Health
Well-planned vegan and lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy and lactation. Appropriately planned vegan and lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets satisfy nutrient needs of infants, children, and adolescents and promote normal growth.
These nutrient requirements represent minimum levels and do not include any surpluses. All diets are made up of calories. Everything you eat and drink (besides obvious calorie-free things like water and celery, etc.) has calories in it. Vegetarians are still a minority in the United States, but a large and growing one. Carnivores seem to think that vegetarians are like dieters and that we want to cheat a little now and then. My father is convinced that if he can convince me of how good his corned beef and cabbage tastes, I’ll give in and eat it.

Vegetarian Community – A Culture Vegetarians Call Home
Being a vegetarian requires more than just shifting your eating lifestyle. Turning to a vegetarian lifestyle is one of the most beneficial and positive form of eating changes where your body is concerned.
You might need to make some important adjustments just to ensure that you are in a vegetarian track which will not compromise of some nutritional alternatives to protein and vitamin-rich non-vegetarian food; these foods will most probably be excluded in your dining lifestyle. However, even though this is the case, you can find plenty of help in your vegetarian community to cope with all the vitamins and proteins your body needs.
The vegetarian way of life is not just a change in your diet or the avoidance of certain foods, but a community. This is because this dietary lifestyle is not just about your food preference; it’s about the lifestyle and the community you are to be a part of.
