Groundhog Day tradition has roots in early Christianity
It’s not very often that you’ll find a rodent headlining a nationally celebrated day in its honor — much less making weather predictions. But come Tuesday, that’s what will happen when a woodchuck named Phil sucks up the publicity in front of a crowd of some 30,000 in Punxsutawney, Pa., on Groundhog Day 2010.
